– Doing everything you do as a gift to God –

Is it really worth the effort to be “excellent” in the things you do?  What if you don’t like the things that you are being asked to do? Maybe you’re tired of sports, music, school, art, cleaning your room, or anything else.  Maybe you don’t get the popularity or awards that other people get with similar activities.  Well, whether you like what you are doing or not, you have the opportunity to do your best as a gift to God.

There is an amazing promise that God gives to you – nothing that you do for the Lord will ever be useless.  Even if you don’t see the value of what you are doing, if you do it for God, He promises to use it for good!  Striving for excellence is not about being better than anyone else.  It is about doing your very best.  If you do your best as a gift for God then He loves if and He will use it -even if your best the worst grade or last place in the class.  God sees your heart and He smiles when you do anything for Him.  And that is the reason to put in the effort and work to do your best in everything you do!

“So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. – 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NLT)
